Back Into Development and Architecture
Chris "Danger" Missal, November 13th, 2008
So I wouldn't call it ADD, but I shift where my focus is on a daily, if not hourly, basis. I was going crazy with jQuery not long ago, then I got back into a CSS and XHTML kick and now I'm reading up on design patterns and architectures. I'll consider that a good thing. It keeps me on my toes and not stuck on one thing. My post tonight is about Leveraging Windsor and the Strategy Pattern. I'd love some feedback on this. If you have a moment leave a comment at the bottom of the page.
Also, I've been spending a lot of time on a side-project I'm calling MadeUpStats. I'll have some updates on that soon I'm sure.
DumpsterDoggy got a Makeover
Chris Missal, November 6th, 2008
I decided that I didn't like the site's appearance so I decided to give it a new look. Also the old bar on the right was a lot wider and caused some display issues with lower resolution monitors that I overlooked. I use dual 1680 x 1050 at home. :D
Internet Back, and Back from KaizenConf
Chris Missal, November 5th, 2008
Alright, I got a lot of great knowledge out of the Continuous Improvement in Software Development Conference and now the my internet connection is finally connected to my new place... I can start to blog about it. I'm going to try to get it all on here by this time next week.
Tie it Together Using jQuery - Yet Another Reason jQuery Rocks!
Chris Missal, October 17th, 2008
Another tutorial that expands upon the last. Tie it
Together Using jQuery talks about, and shows, how to use the <rel> tag (or whatever) to link
your elements together for easy coding and interaction. I feel like this is a great example of how powerful
jQuery can be. If it's not painfully obvious, I'm on a huge jQuery kick right now.
My Interview about Continuous Improvement
Chris Missal, October 16th, 2008
I have learned a lot over the last several months. Many new concepts and practices have been introduced by Tim Barcz who started working with me those several months ago. Tim asked me some questions about my challenges and any advice I could give to others that are also pursuing these same concepts and practices. Thanks for letting me share my thoughts Tim! You can also view Tim's posts at his devlicio.us blog, or read the whole article.
Another Update, Guess What? Yep! jQuery Again
Chris Missal, October 10th, 2008
I added another jQuery sample. Tab-Like Click Toggle in jQuery. It's one that I end up writing in one way or another quite a bit, I thought it was worth sharing. I have a list of future topics I want to show/write about/discuss. Unfortunately that list is at work and I won't get at it until at least Monday.
Upcoming: (For those who follow this for the non-techie stuff)
Omaha, this weekend to hang with the old gang. Next weekend I'll be moving into my newer, nicer, bigger apartment. Then 2 weeks after that, Halloween weekend through the second I'll be in Austin for the Continuous Improvement in Software Development Conference. I can't wait!
Also, be sure to sign up for Iowa Code Camp on Nov 8th!
Update to the jQuery Double Click code thingy
Chris Missal, September 24th, 2008
I added some additional content to my Combine jQuery and Double Clicks to Get Data post to explain how I found it useful. If you think comments don't get read... think again. Also, 17 days without an update, not good. Time to get back in gear!

August was a Slow Month
Chris Missal, August 20th, 2008
This month has been kind of slow, kind of busy, but excuses are exactly that. My post tonight was a little something I was looking into for a while. I noticed on the New York Times Online that if you double click a word in a news article, you get the definition. This intrigued me, so I starting toying around to see if I could duplicate this. It was not hard, but fun nonetheless. The title of Combine jQuery and Double Clicks to Get Data seems pretty self explanatory to me, check it out.
I just got back from
